Coming up in a few short months is the Super Bowl, the granddaddy of them all. Each year every team desires to be in that matchup at the end of the season, but who will take it all the way this year? Denver Broncos, New England Patriots, Atlanta Falcons or the Carolina Panthers? If you had to choose one team who would you pick?
My team, which is the Dallas Cowboys, are obviously out for the rest of the year. They really messed up by putting Matt Cassel in as backup quarterback especially when it should have been Brandon Weeden to take Tony Romo’s spot. Tony Romo fractured his collarbone once again while playing against the undefeated Carolina Panthers. This leads Cowboys fans to go into hiding after another disappointing year. But for me, it’s all right, because there is always next year.
It’s very exciting to watch these teams go head to head and fight to “take the title” of Super Bowl champs. The Carolina Panthers, from the NFC, still remain undefeated as they kicked butt on Thanksgiving Day beating the Dallas Cowboys 33 to 14. It was also an exciting day for the Chicago Bears who beat the Green Bay Packers by three points on a last minute field goal.
Another game that had us all on our toes was the Denver Broncos versus the New England Patriots game on Nov. 29, 2015. Back and forth the whole time, Denver stuck it out and scored the winning points in overtime winning 30 to 24. This was an exciting game that all Denver Broncos fans will be talking about for a long time.
There are still some teams that are trying to steal a seat in the playoffs like the Houston Texans with a 6-7 record as they tie it up with Indianapolis Colts for that playoff slot. The Pittsburgh Steelers, who are 8-5, are now just two games behind Cincinnati Bengals. As of right now, there are only a few games left so these teams can still make it to the playoffs if they can step up their game a little.
The teams that look like they’ll be heading to the playoffs in the NFC (National Football Conference) are the Washington Redskins, Arizona Cardinals, Green Bay Packers and the Carolina Panthers. I’m really hoping that the Arizona Cardinals will make it to the Super Bowl this year. They are a low profile team that couldn’t do anything for years or find that rhythm that a team needs. This year, however, things are clicking and it is paying off.
The teams that are likely playoff bound in the AFC (American Football Conference) are the New England Patriots, Denver Broncos, Cincinnati Bengals and the Houston Texans. The number one seed in the AFC is none other than the New England Patriots mostly because the rest of this year is not at all difficult. So as long as Tom Brady (quarterback) can keep it up, the New England Patriots will probably go to the Super Bowl this year.
So as the playoff season rolls around, have hope in your team no matter how many times they lose. My team, the Dallas Cowboys, had a very terrible year. A 3-9 record is bad but there are still a few more games in the year and we are only two games behind the Washington Redskins who are leading the NFC East division with a 6-7 record. So as I try to remain as faithful as possible to my team, may you do the same. Good luck and may the odds be ever in your favor.
